With a big collection of vhs, 8mm, hi8, miniDV and DVD I want to have everything on disks instead.
Only have miniDVs left. Just wondering, any other format than the ordinary AVI that can be used without signal reduction but is smaller than ordinary AVI?
If not I have to buy a lot of diskspace to have room for 150 miniDV tapes
2 TB is enough for around 145 hours of DV material. That is not much storage today, and far better than converting to another format. You could also just keep the tapes as they are, stored in a safe place. The lifetime of tapes is much better than disks.
