Just curious. Now, that I have optimized my system for CS5, I thought I would give it a try. I opened a project and all works great. However, I thought that there would be no red in the time line if the GPU was working. I added a lot of different effects to multiple layers of video and it stayed yellow and played back smoothly. But, when I added an effect like 3d Cube to experiment, it turned red over the timeline. Now, I know red means it needs to be rendered, but I thought with the GPU working that it would at least be yellow. Is this normal? I am using the Quadro 4000 with all updated drivers.
Thank you. That is a relief. I figured this was it since all of the effects I was adding from the "32" folder were giving me these problems. I had forgotten this in my haste to make sure all was working correctly. All of this optimization for my system feels like working with Pro Tools. You have to have all of the right things to get the system to work at its best. Thanks for all of your hep here on the forum it is very helpful!
