My 3 hard drives are configured as...
1 - 320G WD Win7 and all programs
2 - 320G WD Win7 swap file and PPro projects
3 - 1T WD all video files... read and write
I recommend this:
C: Operating System and Programs
D: Projects and Scratch (Previews, Media Cache)
E: Media and Exports
I have this configuration, OS and apps are on raptor 600gb 10,000rpm drive. I have a three drive RAID 5 set. External G Tech mini 1tb in raid 1. Confused as to where to put everything.
The fastest disks are in order: Raid5, C and GTech. C is occupied, so put your page-file, projects and media on the raid and export to the GTech.
Thank you again for your help. Okay so my scratch disks are: Captured Video, Captured Audio, Video Previews, Audio Previews all on the Three Disk RAID 5 (three 1TB 7200rpm). OS and apps on main drive (600gb 10,000rpm) Project Destination: RAID Drive.(Although it seems that Adobe was recommending that the project files stay on the disk with the OS??) My exports are my external G-RAID mini in RAID 1. Here is where I am going to move media assets and project files as well in order to move to and work from another computer. I believe all I would need to open on another computer is the media files and project files. As far as page file, is this a Windows thing? I am running Mac OSX 10.6.6. I also have 16GB RAM so I am not sure if this is an issue.
