I'm using Premiere Elements 9 on Mac and have a number of small AVCHD projects that I'd like to combine into a large project in order to burn a DVD. I've reviewed other posts that suggest exporting each project to DV AVI and them importing the DV AVI files into a single project. Sounds good except I don't see where I can export to DV AVI on Mac. It's not an option under Share/Computer. My only options there are Flash, MPEG and Quicktime. Anybody have any suggestions? Would MPEG2 be a suitable alternative?
As I say in my books, the Mac equivalent of a DV-AVI is the DV-MOV.
So use Share/Computer/MOV with the DV preset. These files will load into a project set up for standard DV.
Your video will be standard resolution rather than hi-def, like AVCHD. But, since you're outputting to DVD, you're only going to get standard resolution anyway, so downsampling to DV won't hurt the quality at all.
Thanks Steve. I'll give that a shot.
