When I am trying to install from the CS4 app discs it comes up "System check. Session has dependencies that cannot be satisfied. The installer database is invalid: please re-install the product from the original media"
By original media I assume it means the discs that I am using!
What version of Mac OSX are you using?
Was the software working before you installed the updates?
If the installer database is damaged, you may need to uninstall, run the cleaner utility, and then reinstall.
Folks on this forum know After Effects well, but we don't necessarily know the installer as well, so your best bet may be to contact Adobe Technical Support:
I am running version 10.6.6 and yes the software was working fine before the update. The thing that's most puzzling is the update failed to install. All the other Adobe programmes (Photoshop etc) work fine, After Effects is the only one experiencing problems.
I contacted technical support and they said to copy the file from the installation disc onto desktop and boot from there but that has not worked either. They are going to contact me tomorrow to see if everything went smoothly.
I will give the cleaner a try.
The cleaner utility has not worked, now when I try to install from disc it freezes during "Checking System Profile..."
And when I try to uninstall it is unresponsive. How do I get around this?
If you're engaged with Adobe Technical Support about this issue, then you should continue to work with them to get this resolved.
