I google up lots of posts on this, but none are of any help. I tried the Adobe fix:
and all the registry entries are correct.
The "invalid" drive is a mapped network drive, and I made sure it was connected and available before starting the install of AdbeRdr1000_en_US.exe. I have my "Pictures" shell folder redirected to that drive. Don't know why the installer would need access to "My Pictures".
I ran the executable as an administrator.
OS- Win 7 Pro 64-bit
Has anyone figured out a workaround?
This did the trick for me.
I'm running Win 7 Home Premium 32-bit. Uninstalled Adobe Reader 9.? and tried to install Adobe Reader X. It failed with Error 1327. Although I don't know why it was looking for the networked disk at all, it was indeed a valid disk (certainly Windows Explorer had no problems accessing it). The registry entries for Common AppData and the current user's AppData all pointed to the C drive (I've only overridden Documents, Favorites, Pictures, and Music to point to the networked drive).
At any rate, using the msi installer worked fine, with no problems or tweaking required, where the .exe installer consistently failed.
