imagic2010 Jan 19, 2011 10:02 AM (in response to Missteach)@wodehouse Great question that I'd love the answer to, as well. On a related note, how were you able to remove the duration and status columns/fields from the TOC? I'm looking to do that for a project I'm working on to free up character space for Topic Titles.
TIA!

rgcunningham Jan 19, 2011 11:38 AM (in response to Missteach)Actually, it is possible to change that text. Create a simple text file named TOCStrings.ini and place it in the Captivate install folder (C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 4 for Captivate 4 or C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 5 for Captivate 5.) I used Windows Notepad to create the file. In the text file, add text like the following:
[TOCStrings]
SlideTitle=Slide
Duration=Length
Status=Visited
ClearToolTip=Erase Check Mark
This will not effect any Captivate projects you have already created, but for any new projects, the text strings will be replaced.
If you don't want slide duration to show at all, in the Skin Editor, TOC tab, click the Settings button and click the checkbox to deselect Show Duration.
I hope this helps.

(I just tried this in Captivate 5 and the changes do effect existing projects. In Captivate 4 it only effects new projects.)

imagic2010 Jan 19, 2011 11:50 AM (in response to rgcunningham)Mister C,
Is there additional documentation on customizations to the TOC or Skin Editor like this somewhere? This would seem ilke fairly deep knowledge but wondering if I can read up on it somewhere.
TIA,
Jay

rgcunningham Jan 19, 2011 12:19 PM (in response to imagic2010)Hi Jay. Unfortunately, there really isn't any other documentation. My other sources are generally these forums, plus the Adobe Captivate Blog. As a matter of fact, the solution I posted here came from the Captivate Blog at http://blogs.adobe.com/captivate/2009/02/changing_default_captions_in_t.html. If you use the Adobe Community Help feature, you can search through both Adobe reference materials and online sources like the blog.
Hope this helps.

MichaelD443 Nov 29, 2011 10:13 AM (in response to rgcunningham)CPT v5.5
Win7(64)
Firefox browser v7.01
Clearing the checkmark for "Duration" removes the times for each slide but leaves the duration at the bottom of the TOC. Is there another way to get rid of the duration entirely? The CPT module proceeds with learner mouse clicks so the duration is superfluous.
Thanks.
