2. Re: No Audio Play back from Timeline!
Toomany3 Jan 20, 2011 11:16 AM (in response to bootsuk)I'm sure you've already done this, but the same thing happens here.... If you look at the bottom right it's conforming audio. If it's still conforming, whatever that is, you won't hear anything even though you'll get a reading on your levels.
If you wait a few minutes does it ever appear?

3. Re: No Audio Play back from Timeline!
bootsuk Jan 20, 2011 11:42 AM (in response to Kevin-Monahan)Audio Hardware and audio output mapping set to Black Magic but no change.
In fact tried another capture and several times that froze.
No much else installed to make any conflicts.

bootsuk Jan 20, 2011 11:47 AM (in response to Toomany3)Sorry but does what appear? Conforming symbol?
The test clips are only about 30 secs duratioin so I think the conforming should take no time at all, not even noticed it in CS5 but have only captured very short clips so far.

5. Re: No Audio Play back from Timeline!
Bill Hunt Jan 20, 2011 12:16 PM (in response to bootsuk)The Conforming is shown as a progress bar at the very lower-right of the GUI, upon Import. This ARTICLE will give you some background.
Good luck,
Hunt
PS - though it does not take devices, like the BM into account, this ARTICLE covers many of the places to check for Audio in PrPro. You have probably already checked each, but if not, please do have a look.

6. Re: No Audio Play back from Timeline!
bootsuk Jan 20, 2011 12:17 PM (in response to bootsuk)I would add its the audio as played via the PC speakers from the timeline, the audio feed from the Black magic card to a monitor works ok.
But the PC will only play the audio from the Premiere input monitor screen.not the timeline.

JSS1138 Jan 20, 2011 12:22 PM (in response to bootsuk)I wonder if it's supposed to work that way.

8. Re: No Audio Play back from Timeline!
bootsuk Jan 22, 2011 3:40 AM (in response to bootsuk)I have just found out that the Black Magic card will NOT play audio from the time line Why on earth not I do not know.
Audio has to be monitored from a monitor using the line out from the Black Magic card. I cannot find any mention of this fact in the notes.

9. Re: No Audio Play back from Timeline!
Bill Hunt Jan 22, 2011 8:31 AM (in response to bootsuk)Interesting. While I do not use BM cards, I've seen a lot of threads on Audio issues, and do not recall seeing this info. Thank you for posting, as it will likely help others in the future.
Good luck,
Hunt
