The first thing you need is lots of disks. You can get rid of the SSD to pay for those disks, since it does not bring you anything, apart from an empty wallet.
For CPU coolers, look at CoolerMaster, Noctua, Prolimatech or ThermalRight. Maybe even Scythe. And consider a full tower like the 932.
I didn't write it here, but I'll be getting (2) 1 TB WD Black Caviars as well.
In order to run these in a RAID 0 or 1 setup, do I have to have a RAID Controller card? I'm trying to not make this more complicated than it needs to be, but if I must I must.
As for the SSD, I hear their reliability is considerably higher than traditional disks. Are you suggesting a raptor 10,000 rpm drive instead?
Depends on your budget, If you have no difficulty using three or more disks, next to the SSD, than you are OK. If you are stretched, forget a SSD, since it will not bring performance gain, but will effectively cut a hole in your wallet.
SSD's are way overrated and overpriced. All they achieve is emptying your savings. Nothing else for the time being. Raid1 is only for paranoids, double the cost without any benefits. Raid0 is for the risk-takers who enjoy speed. Both can be run off the mobo.
Dont hesitate obtaining 24GB RAM instead that SSD. You have to O.C. the 950 @ 4.Ghz that is very easy and ofcourse get a good cooler. Air will be OK.
