Are you saying that I have to hack something? I think my builder was under the impression that it was good to go right out of the box.
Update to 5.03 and you will be OK. No need for the 'hack'.
Thanks. Did not think of needing an update but that is EXACTLY what I needed. Worked perfectly.
Thank you for your help
We just got a new mobile workstation for onsite capturing and editing
and I cannot turn on GPU hardware acceleration from ''Video Rendering and Playback''
The dropdown menu is dimmed (gray). And I always see a red line on the timeline even with
just a single 1080p captured from HDV camera with OnLocation CS5.
We use Premiere PRO CS5 (5.0.3) on a Quad processor i7840 with 12Gig Ram
with NiIdia FX3800M (latest driver installed, 266.58). OS is Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.
Any suggestion ? Thanks !
I finally found the solution. Here is the path to solve this issue :
The Renderer String Name listed in the GPUSneffer.exe is Quadro FX 3800M.
By default the card names listed in the cuda_supported_card.txt is Quadro FX 3800.
Both card names must be listed in the cuda_supported_card.txt. So I added the
Quadro FX 3800M (dont forget the M) in the list and it fix everything! Now I can select
the Mercury GPU acceleration and the render line is yellow.
Recommendation to Adobe:
Adobe should list by default both card names in the cuda_supported_card.txt. Because
the mobile version of the quadro FX 3000 is Quadro FX 3800M.
