1. Re: Adding esata and understanding transfer rates
Harm Millaard Jan 26, 2011 2:54 AM (in response to Joe Riggs)Who uses a PCI slot nowadays? That is so slow. Either get a PCI-e card for eSATA or use internal SATA to eSATA connectors.

2. Re: Adding esata and understanding transfer rates
Joe Riggs Jan 26, 2011 12:10 PM (in response to Harm Millaard)Yea, I could use a whole new system. Unfortunately, at the moment my motherboard is a G31t-m
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813135063The mobo has 1 pci-e x16, which I use for a 240GT. Unfortunately, this card covers up the other pci-e x1 slot. However, even if it was free, it is a pci-e x1 slot, so internal SATA to eSATA connector would offer a better transfer rate?
If I wanted to add sata ports what would you advise?
Thanks
