Thanks Linda. I am curious how you did it though, I would like to learn.

The navbar is a rectangle with 28% roundness.
If you open the graphic I uploaded in Fireworks and look in the gradient editor, you'll be able to see how the gradient was created. The vertical lines are just three lines, one dark and two light, drawn with the Line tool.
To add the bottom detail to the bar and also the search form shape, I added an inner bevel and barely there drop shadow.
Give it a try! That's the best way to learn the program.
1.) I am able to see how you applied the gradient by opening the gradient, however, how do you know how many points to add on the gradient spectrum? What do you base this on?
2.) "The vertical lines are just three lines, one dark and two light, drawn with the Line tool."
Where are the light lines? I only see two vertical dark lines?
Use the eyedropper tool to select the colors from the original image. Add as many points as are necessary to recreate the gradient. I see two horizontal lines in the original apple image. That may be an artifact of my iMac display.
