I went to the trouble of identifiying, testing and reporting a bug in the new Reader X but it looks like it has just been totally ignored.
Is this not the right place to report bugs? Do any Adobe employees bother reading this forum?
I also tried logging the problem at https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform but never heard back. Is there any better way to get Adobe to acknowledge a bug in their product?
It looks like Morac found a very similar problem, though not related to ShowModalDialog, here http://forums.adobe.com/thread/785066?tstart=0
Turning off protected mode also fixes this problem. The trouble is I don't want to have to go around hundreds of PCs turning off a default setting just to get the save button to work consistently. I've upgraded to version 10.0.1 and the problem still exists. Adobe need to get their finger out and sort this out as a matter of urgency.

Bugs should be reported via the web form, as you have done. This forum is for user to user conversations and is not a direct pipeline to the product team. While all bug reports submitted via the web form are read, Adobe does not reply unless they require additional information from the submitter, nor do they publicly indicate the schedules or details of forthcoming patches beyond the security announcements made via PSIRT.
Thanks for the info. At least I know I've done all I can.
Even if they don't reply to me personally I think they should have at least added it to the "Protected Mode Troubleshooting" document http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/860/cpsid_86063.html under the bugs section.
I like the irony of them describing it as a new yet robust technology.
