Back in the day, when I used to export 24p widescreen footage off of CS3 through firewire (export to tape) onto a mini dv tape, it played fine and still does. But for some reason it won't let me recapture it without playing back scrambled or sometimes playing fine, but with no audio. There's always a reason that I can't capture it off of tape like I could if it were dailies from a fresh shoot. Any ideas? Thank you.
First idea is you always need to provide computer and camera DETAILS
So... IF you are using Win7, this is one place to read
Then... Work through all of the steps (ideas) listed at http://forums.adobe.com/thread/459220?tstart=0
If your problem isn't fixed after you follow all of the steps, report back with ALL OF THE DETAILS asked for in the FINALLY section at the troubleshooting link
The computer I have now is a core i7 with 12 gigs ram, 5850 graphics, capturing through firewire off of a Panasonic GS120 - same camera I outputted to - the original camera the material was shot on was a DVX100A, but this has been happening with all my computers (PC) with CS2,3, 4 as well as now CS5. The material will play fine on the camera, but I can't capture it due to unstable video or no audio after capture.
Now I just went MAC for my work notebook and I was able to capture the material easily through Adobe capturing to mov files, but my editing computer is the HP with the above specs. Very frustrating. Shot material fine, but outputting to tape witll not input back in.
