1. Re: Is it possible to use psd files as the title files in Premiere(convert or other)?
Colin Brougham Jan 31, 2011 1:39 PM (in response to nexgenVP)You can't convert PSDs to Premiere Pro Titles (that I'm aware of), but you can use PSDs as titles--if that's what you're asking. Actually, that's my preferred method of titling; I rarely use the built-in title tool.

Bill Hunt Jan 31, 2011 1:47 PM (in response to nexgenVP)As Colin states, just use the PSD's as your Titles. For the Roll, just Keyframe the fixed Effect>Motion>Position, and "roll away." I do my long Roll credits, just that way. There is much more control with the Keyframes, than the Preset Roll in Titles. Once you explore that power, you will likely never go back to the Preset (same for Crawl) again.
Good luck,
Hunt

nexgenVP Feb 1, 2011 10:07 AM (in response to Bill Hunt)Thanks guys,
Is there a way to save a styled text inside of photoshop like how the titler has it. I'm importing a text file into photoshop(50 credits). There are titles that are going to be styled differently from the names. So is there a way to select the text and just paste a style(font, font-size, color)?

4. Re: Is it possible to use psd files as the title files in Premiere(convert or other)?
Colin Brougham Feb 1, 2011 10:28 AM (in response to nexgenVP)Yep, check out Layer Styles. That's the little "fx" button at the bottom of the Layers Panel in PS. You can add drop shadows, glows, embossing, strokes and more. Later, you can import the PSDs either flattened or as layers, and the layer styles will be baked into the graphic.

Bill Hunt Feb 1, 2011 10:42 AM (in response to Colin Brougham)And, if you want to add different Styles, just create say the actor's names on one Text Layer, and the role on another Text Layer. You can easily Align Layers to each other, so there is no problem there.
You can also do several things at the character Level, but Layer Styles are not one of those. It will not be available, if on has Selected a character, or characters in a line of Text.
Good luck,
Hunt
