The answer depends on exactly which type of member you are using. If it's a Flash Component (TextEntry) then you use sprite(numberOrName).text, otherwise you use member.text
It comes up with an error "Script Error: Property not found, #text" using both sprite("name").text and member("name").text
So what #type of member does your sprite implement? Alter the sprite number to suit:
put sprite(1).member.type: -- #flashComponent
Ah yeah I was using the default palette instead of the flash component palette. Thanks for your help.
