    Ratnabharati
      Hi,
      I m very new to Director. I want to open a pdf file from my projector on clicking a button.
      I m usinf the "OpenFile" method of BudAPI Xtra. Its working fine in the PC. I m following the cross platform method.
      So, I m publishing my Director file for MAC(hqx version) from PC. While publishing its not showing any error.
      However, the file is not working in the MAC. Is not opening the pdf file.
      Please, help........!!!!! Its very urgent.

      Thanks
      Bharati

          Are there any error messages thrown when you run it on the Mac? What
          does the value returned from the baOpenFile() method tell you? Can you
          post some code?

            No...Its not showing any error message.
            Following the code:

            ============================================================
            on mouseUp
            baOpenFile(the moviePath & "SmartTabs QuickStart Guide.pdf", "0")
            end
            ============================================================
            This code is working fine in the PC. Its opening the pdf. However, not working in the MAC. :(

              What is the "0" parameter supposed to be? If you read the documentation
              for the xtra, there are 4 possible values for the second parameter that
              baOpenFile() takes.
              Also, the function returns a value that can provide useful information.
              --
              on mouseUp me
              OK = baOpenFile(the moviePath & "SmartTabs QuickStart Guide.pdf",
              "Normal")
              if OK < 32 then
              -- error occurred; check the docs for numbers and their meaning
              end if
              end
