I am trying to customize a Table of Contents for a Document. I have 2 paragraph heading styles that I want to show (Heading 1 and Heading 2). When I originally created the table of contents and clicked update, it only displayed the Heading 1 entries. So, I went to Layout + Table of Contents and designated it to show the Heading 2 entries also. It created the Table of Contents with both Heading 1 and Heading 2 showing. However, when I go to Layout + Update Table of Contents later, it creates a Table of Contents with only Heading 1 showing. How do I get the program to
It's best to save your TOC options as a TOC style, then use that rather than the Default style. I'm not sure why your update didn't include the new paragraph styles, but it sounds like the change wasn't saved in the TOC style.
