    Can't open pdf files

I have installed Adobe Reader and still can't open anything pdf.  It requires a

      license, why?

First, are you sure you downloaded Adobe Reader and not a trial version of Adobe Acrobat?

Yes, I only downloaded Adobe Reader.  It tells me there is an

'error-application already exists', however I continue to get a window

that expects me to pay for a subscription unless I have a license

            number.

When I first got my computer I couldn't open pdf and so I accepted a

trial version.  Now I'm stuck without any access and refuse to pay for

            it.

Trial version is available for Adobe Acrobat and not for Adobe Reader. Can you check again if you have Reader or Acrobat on your computer?

If it is Reader then Adobe Reader is a free product so you need not to pay to use it. From which site did you install it?
