Why not - do you get any error messages?
Uninstall the current version from Add/Remove Programs, then download a version of your choice from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
I managed to download
acrobat reader 10 but now when I click on it to install it the following box appears.
The application was unable to start correctly 0xc000007b
Click ok to close the application.
The same message is also now appearing when I try to start a few other programs, I dont know what is happening - any ideas?
As the error message popping up for some other programs also then probably your PC has some virus on it. Can you scan your system once?
Hi thanks for the reply I did a full scan with microsoft security essentials and
it said no virus found.
What are your system specifications? Which version of MSI engine is installed on your PC?
As you have mentioned that you are facing same issue with other programs as well, are those other programs are related to windows MSI installer only?
I do not know what version MSI I have where would I find it?

You can check the MSI engine version by checking the version for file MSI.dll inside Windows\System32 folder. Follow the below steps:
1. Open Windows Explorer and access the "Windows\System32" folder on your primary drive (usually "C:\")
2. Locate the MSI.DLL file, right-click on it and choose "Properties" to check the version number.What are the other programs with which you are facing this error?
Thanks for that the product version number is 5.0.7600.16385
The other programs not working are tomtom and youcam that I know as of yet.
Run Defragmentation on your computer and then try launching Installer. Even then if you face issues with installation then provide me the MSI log
