auto-download? you mean you won't to start loading a file onto a user's system without their ok?
if it were possible, that would be a significant security issue.
Not that. When you click an html download link, it will begin downloading to your browsers default download location, without asking for you to specify a location with the dialog box. Can you bypass the dialog box with FileReference class?

I'm wondering if these types of downloads can be created with the FileReference class. So far, I've only seen examples that ask me to choose a local location for the file to be placed before the download begins. Make sense?
NEVERMIND. I found the answer on livedocs, and it is NO. So sad.
The FileReference and FileReferenceList classes do not let you set the default file location for the dialog box generated by browse() and download() calls.
Looks like the solutions remains passing the selected file references to a ssscript.
