    Fireworks Popup Menus

      Hello,

I have been using FIreworks and Dreamweaver version 4 and recently upgraded to Fireworks and Dreamweaver version 8. I have done many popup menus in Fireworks 4 and have exported to Dreamweaver 4 without any issues. I am trying my first popup menu in version 8 Fireworks and the popup menu works fine. When I export into Dreaweaver 8 the popup menu does not work. I have tried it with and without CSS. I have tried transfering as html, htm, xhtml -- the page in Dreamweaver is a basic page and the document type is XHTML 1.0 Transitional. What is the proper way to transfer these files so they will show up in Dreamweaver 8.0? I have changed my links in the popup menu and the name of my files to match from html to htm and it doesn't matter. I got the popup menu to work once in Dreamweaver (I think it was using CSS) and when I clicked on a link within the popup menu it was not mapping correctly and I got a blank page. It showed the popup link I clicked on as htm in the URL address but the reason it was not mapping is because the file it was trying link to was had an html extension. The confusiont part is that I changed the link to match the file before I exported it. I cleared out all of the exported slices and anything pertaining to this popup menu prior to exporting so there is no way it could have retained the old htm extension. I am getting very upset--I should have never upgraded. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You may be interested in what the person who adapted that code for

I wouldn't touch them (even the ones in FW8) with a 10-foot pole.
Especially considering that there are so many MUCH better ways.
