I've got a pile of hand held shots that are constantly travelling forwards. A typical one would be an over-the-shoulder following someone walking through a crowded market. They're more wobbly than I'd like...
With a hand held shot where there's no significant movement forwards or backwards it's easy enough to cure or tone down excessive camera shake.
But what do you do if the camera is moving forward and there's no fixed object in the centre that you can lock on to? Is there any tool or trick that can help me with this?
Thanks for the replies, but neither address the instance where you don't have an object for the stabilisation to lock on to - like the car in the videocopilot example. If you're travelling forwards then anything coming towards you will be changing in scale, and won't perhaps even be in frame for very long.
I was hoping someone had developed software specifically for this.
