1. Re: Export edited movies to play via SD cards on Panny blu-ray players
Harm Millaard Feb 15, 2011 5:33 AM (in response to Billy Ellwood)No. Panny BR-players do not support all the TM700 formats. Weird, but reality.
Just use BR to export.

Billy Ellwood Feb 15, 2011 5:48 AM (in response to Harm Millaard)I am hoping that my Panasonic player would play even one high def movie format on an SD card, to save me using up a BR disk to show a film once.

John T Smith Feb 15, 2011 8:30 AM (in response to Billy Ellwood)Well... what does the Panasonic manual say about accepted formats?
Have you downloaded a manual from the Panasonic site, so you may search the PDF?

Billy Ellwood Feb 15, 2011 9:46 AM (in response to John T Smith)I'm looking at the manual and it says that sdhc memory cards can have mpeg2, avchd and jpeg files.
So I've got a 32gb Transcend card. It plays the files recorded straight from the camera, but I would love to edit movies in Premiere and copy movies into the card and into the Panny BR player.
I can't find a preset for exporting .m2t files. Maybe I can re-name them to .m2v files and it'll play them.

Kona Bob Feb 15, 2011 4:16 PM (in response to JSS1138)When I want to do a one time HDTV showing of a project, or just watch a draft of a project to see how it looks on HDTV, I burn it out to a rewritable BD.
Encore automatically erases whatever was on the BD and burns the current file.
It's pretty quick, allows you to use the full BR data rate for best quality, and it's very cost effective.

Billy from Consett-UU8xdN Feb 16, 2011 8:36 AM (in response to Kona Bob)Thanks everyone - I last night discovered that the Panny BR player wouldn't play any of the movies I've put onto BR disks! I updated the firmware to no avail.
So I've to swap the panny player for a Sony S360, that plays my BR disks but doesn't have a SD card.
That's life.
