So I just traced and this:
trace("1 is: " + xnRoot.childNodes .childNodes.nodeType);
And it returned a 1, so I have a xml element and not a text node. What I
have in my xml document are mostly strings, that I will feed into text
boxes, so I need a text node? Sorry really new to xml.
FYI Its best to put your code in the forum with the attach Code button... because parts of it disappear when they are interpreted as formatting instructions - italics for example.
What you need is the code below to get to your text Node
thank you so much, I have my file working now!!!
You're welcome... and I didn't pay attention... you're not on the actual web forum but accessing this through a newsgroup... so I guess you can't use an 'attach Code' button - so that part was pretty useless advice, sorry!
GWD, yeah, I have heard it before, so I just did not respond to that
part. I am using Netscape on a mac. How are you guys viewing this?
Brian, I access it via the adobe website:
Not sure if you can read/see the link that follows:
I know there's newsgroup access to the same content... I'm guessing that's what you're doing via netscape.
yeah, that is what I do, and I like it because it seems faster than the
web browser. But I guess there are downsides to this method as well!
