Do you have any speech recognition software installed?
We are getting similare error and have isolated it to Reckon's Quicken Personal Plus 2010 running at the same time as Adobe Reader X is launched - does not seem to matter if from within a browser or standalone version of program, it crashes with Software exception (0x40000015) at location 0x03744a5c in AcroRd32.exe. If we shutdown Quicken all is fine, except of course Quicken allow the importation of pdf files so that functionality in their program is currently not too flash.
I hope Adobe will address this, as the problem very much appears to be on their side as it only started after the upgrade to Adobe Reader X, yesterday, based on their auto update advice.
Looking forward to the patch
Nops, no speech recognitation software is installed, although there are build-in speech recognitation in MS Office and also even in Acrobat reader but no other. Furthermroe Symantec Endpoint Protection and PC Tools Filrewall Plus is running.
This is enough........ I have uninstalled the Adobe Reader X the WORST version of Reader ever.
Adobe Reader X is pure garbage. I've wasted a lot of time uninstalling it on all my computers. Now I have to waste more time to stop Adobe from hounding me that there are newer versions of it's worthless software out there.
Once I stop this bleeding then I will look for an alternative to Adobe Reader and take my business elsewhere.
To stop Adobe from hounding you to install this time wasting update, go to Edit|Preferences|Updater and click the radio button "Do not download or install updates automatically"
Adobe Reader X sucks!!!
