Have an iMac with Snowleopard installed. Have Adobe Reader 9.4.2 also installed. How can I change the preference to view PDF's rather than download them? e.g. if someone sends me a PDF attachment to my gmail account, I may want to simply look at the PDF, rather than downloading it somewhere, then looking at it, and possibly deleting it right away.
I'm sure there is a simple answer, but I have not found the answer here yet...
There's no way to view it with Reader without downloading it, sorry. Gmail can use it's own PDF viewer, if you access it via the web interface.
Until a few days ago, it worked, and I accidentally clicked a "take this action every time" sort of box and now it goes straight to download.
Found my answer: Went to Apple>System Preferences>Applications>scrolled down to >Portable Document Format and it allows me to choose whether to download, or use Adobe Reader. Hopefully it will help another Mac user.
