I have tried now for several days to open bank statement with Adobe Reader. I have tried updating the version I had which was Reader 9 to Reader X, deleted the Reader 9 and installed Adobe Reader X.
The old version worked fine now with the new Adobe Reader X it just doesn't work. I have Windows 7 and I simply do not know what to do. When I click on the online statement it pops up with the %PDF not at beginning of file, I click OK, then it pops up with a screen that states view not available. It is important that I get this fixed. Contacted our bank and they have stated that another customer called with the same problem.
I go back to website and then the next statement pops up there is a problem with Adobe Reader and I should close and reopen and try again Error Message states 523-523 Error.
What should I do. Bank is trying to fix the problem if is on their side, but is there anything I can do on my side to fix so that I can open file?
It could very well be a problem on their end, such as a malformed PDF. You said it worked with a previous version, so you might want to revert back to Reader 9 to see if it makes a difference.
I don't think it has anything to do with the PDF files themselves -- the problem is the new version of Adobe. I've never had any problems with previous editions but since downloading the new version I've had nothing but trouble.
