clvrmnky Feb 18, 2011 7:06 PM (in response to svaronka)Release dates aren't public. But point releases come out every few months or so.

Victoria_Bampton Feb 19, 2011 12:47 AM (in response to svaronka)3.3 came out officially at the beginning of December, and it's usually around 3-4 months, although there's no guarantee that your new camera will make it into the next update as it depends on when they've been able to get hold of a camera and how much work there is to do.

3. Re: When is the next camera support upgrade due?
Pete Marshall Feb 20, 2011 7:15 AM (in response to Victoria_Bampton)The beta version of ACR does support it, see here, so it is pretty likely that LR 3.4 will.
The usual work around with un supported cameras is to use Exif tool to change the maker name tag to a camera recognised by LR, the previous camera from the manufacture is the best bet. As this is a new camera it isn't as simple. If you can identify another camera that uses the same sensor then change the maker name tag to that camera. My guess would be that it is a Panasonic sensor, rather than a Sony, given that Olympus also use 4:3's sensors and all these are made by Panasonic. So perhaps change the name to a recent Panasonic digi cam with the same size sensor (the LX-5 would be my bet) and see how that looks. You will need to know exactly how the cameras maker name tag is written, if you check out the Adobe calibration profiles these are named with the format that LR expects to see.
Obviously make sure you make a copy of the RAW file before making any changes.

svaronka Feb 21, 2011 6:56 AM (in response to svaronka)Thanks for all the responses. I'll try the rename option.
This is the third new camera that I had to wait for an update on. I wish adobe would come up with a better way to add new cameras. There should be a way that registered users coulc just get a single camera added and not have to wait for the full upgrade.
Maybe someday??
Thanks to all.

I wish camera manufacturers would stop forcing us to follow their dumb proprietary formats that give us nothing except an attempt at vendor lock-in.
If those cameras used TIFF or DNG or something, this would not be a problem.
What you are asking for is not really ideal, for many reasons discussed in other threads. The bottom line is that Adobe cannot in good faith assume that a new camera has not altered the file format in some manner, or stuffed more inappropriate metadata into the EXIF maker notes, that breaks the user experience in a very serious manner. Each camera has to be verified, which is a non-trivial amount of work.

7. Re: When is the next camera support upgrade due?
JimHess-ra2Osl Feb 21, 2011 7:48 AM (in response to Lee Jay-ZyZk56)This isn't just an Adobe problem. It's the nature of the beast when working with raw images from any camera, any manufacturer. Nikon has to update its own software (ViewNX, CNX) in order to support their own cameras. It's a problem directly related to the proprietary raw formats that the camera manufacturers are developing. Until/if they develop a new common format that everyone will adopt, we the consumers are the ones who will be expected to tolerate this arrogant stupidity.
