Unless it's changed, when one chooses the SurCode DD 5.1 SS, and then the Options tab, should bring up the SurCode Panel with three tabs: Settings, Advanced and About. From the About tab, you can plug in your SurCode Key, if you have purchased it from Minnetonka Audio. If you have not purchased, you should see a link to purchase it, and you will get an Adobe-user's discount.
Good luck,
Hunt

It has changed a little I just did not scroll down to the option to Activate. Clicking on Active brought up the Surcode Panel. BTW Surcode no longer offers the Adobe users's discount. FYI TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 5 offers DD 5.1 and DD Digital Plus up to 6.1 channels.

But they're not logo-certified. Surcode is. Which means if you create your audio mix with Surcode, you can legally place the DD logo in your productions and packaging, or put a DD trailer at the beginning of your production.

Bill Hunt Feb 22, 2011 12:23 PM (in response to E Baldwin)Sorry to hear that SurCode does not offer the Adobe discount any more. Now, their Adobe price was really a "door buster," as the bulk of that price was the licensing fee from Dolby Labs (as Jeff alludes), so they really pretty much gave the encoder away. Cannot say that I blame them all that much, and glad that I bought 2 copies, back in the "good old days." Now, I just need to install CS5 and see if my Key works... I might be in for a surprise and a need to write a new check?
Good luck,
Hunt

Thanks Jeff, I wish I had a production but for now the most important to me is the encoder is certified by Dolby. BTW I have not seen any Dolby certification of Premiere's stereo encoder.

Bill Hunt Feb 22, 2011 1:10 PM (in response to E Baldwin)Ed,
Check the Dolby Labs certification list, and you will see the Minnetonka Audio SurCode. PrPro is but a host application, so Adobe is not listed directly, and especially as it does not ship with the full SurCode unlocked encoder. If Adobe were to buy licensing from either SurCode, or Dolby, and include the encoder (obviously for an additional price), then they would be listed too.
Good luck, and thanks for pointing out the changes in CS5. I will need that soon!

I understand, then who makes the Adobe stereo encoder?
I checked the Dolby Certification List and Pegasus, parent company of TMPGEnc, is listed.

Jeff Bellune Feb 22, 2011 2:03 PM (in response to E Baldwin)The stereo encoder is licensed from Dolby Labs, but it is a consumer
version, not a logo-certified version.
