cblack412 Feb 23, 2011 1:37 PM (in response to Gualala Barbara)Sounds like the image is too big for the frame. Try one of the fitting commands. Select the object and then use: Object -> Fitting. This will fit your image properly in the frame. Try each on to see which one works best for your design.

Just changed the tif into a gif and now it works. Oh, the mysteries....

cblack412 Feb 24, 2011 7:55 AM (in response to Gualala Barbara)I think it might have been the transparency setting of the image. Try re-importing the TIFF image and see if it ghosts again. If so, check the opacity setting on the object.

Gualala Barbara Feb 25, 2011 10:32 AM (in response to cblack412)When I import the tif image into InDesign, it is importing as 100%
opacity. I checked this Objects>Effects>Transparency>Opacity 100%.
When I view it in PhotoShop I can see the entire image as one layer. The
person who sent the file sent it as a one layer tif. Keep wondering if
perhaps when they flattened their file they did something different?
I've solved my immediate problem by making the file a gif. It worked
for this image because it was a line drawing, but am curious as to why
this image isn't showing up in InDesign. I often receive images to use
as part of our forms and this is the first time this has happened.
