    Halo Template

    kaethy Level 1
I made this layout with the halo CSS template. But the horizontal links at the top are not a list. I tried turning them into a list, but keep running into problems with extra white space, or margins mysteriously widening, or other unexpected effects. All I really want is a .current for the top row, and a .urhere for the second row. This should be easy, but I'm not getting anywhere.

What is your comfort level with HTML, CSS, and javascript?

If it's low, then please search here -

          http://groups.google.com/advanced_group_search?q=+group:macromedia.dreamweaver

for "HALO" and read all the problems similar people have had. Do you want
          to go there, too?

I suggest you try another template - like those here -

http://www.projectseven.com/ (look for PagePacks - commercial)

Well I'm good with HTML, learning CSS as I go, & no Javascript. Knowing my limitations, I greatly simplified the layout, and am not using the Javascript at all. My sub navigation is just simple links. The only problem I'm having is not being able to style the horizontal links with CSS. Just recently the light came on about CSS, the advantages, etc. But it still does things that mystify me.

I've wasted a lot of time on this already. I'm not a paid professional, I'm an unpaid volunteer. I do want to do things right, and I do want to learn, but my time is limited by real life. I already started building my site with this layout unfortunately. What other problems might I expect even though I stripped out the Javascript? Should I forget about turning the navigation into a list & applying CSS?
