For the last few months, at LEAST once a week I get the notification icon in the system tray that tells me I have to update Adobe Reader. Obviously, a fricking update every week is excessive, especially when it requires a damn reboot EVERY time. As pissed off as this makes me it is not nearly as annoying as the fact that when I do update, the installer puts the Adobe shortcut back on my desktop and Start Menu/Programs. This is lazy programming and ANNOYING as hell... if the damn shortcut isn't there, don't put it there!!! How hard is that??? It's not like it's the first time i've installed the stupid program, it's an UPDATE so update the software and leave my damn desktop alone!!!!
Hardly every week...
As for the desktop shortcut, I agree that the user should have a choice.
You can request it at https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
