That depends whether you're running in Shockwave or a projector
If you use...
pNetID = preloadNetThing(...)
... on a file that has already been downloaded, the file will already be in Director's cache. As a result, netDone(pNetID) will return TRUE on the very next frame.
In other words, you won't need to change anything in your code. You'll just get the result much faster than if the file really did have to be preloaded again.
Okay. I was thinking that it redownloaded the file. It's for Shockwave, so this is what's I'll use. Thanks for the info!
One thing. It slows things down a lot! I am just loading small local files, so netDone is returning TRUE right away. But I notice significant lag. Any ideas?
