I recently bought a lot of stuff to build a new computer and update an old one. It has been a very difficult process getting everything working. Out of 6 Western Digital Caviar Black 1T drives, two have tested to be defective and are being replaced. Out of 2 Evga GTX 470 cards one is defective.
Sh*t happens, but better now, in the early stages, than when you have your disks filled 50% or more and only then discover that they are faulty.
Update: Make that 3 bad drives!! 50% failure rate!!
Still pretty good, if I compare it to my experience with Seagate 7200.11 disks. 5 out of 7 of these 1.5 TB disks failed within two months. That is a mortality rate of more than 70%.
