X has all sorts of problems right now. I would uninstall it and go back to 9.4.2. Don't let it try and upgrade you to X after you've installed 9 though.
Here is a link for the first file you'll have to download for 9.4:
And here is the 9.4.2 update for that:
How did you install Reader X? Did you get this message only with some specific pdf or all pdf files? Can you install reader x using desktop shortcut?
Thank you very much. The pdf's I opened keep staying at the screen already for more than 2 minutes. So, I think, they permanently stay without problems till I close a the reader. The installation of version 9 was succesful. If I had the chance to meet you I surely buy you a beer.
I did installed version 9 again. With that version I had no problems.
Now your question:
Some programs were asking version 10 for reading pdf's. For example when I was busy with trading some shares at the stock exchange. So I went to the site of Adobe, I downloaded version X and the troubes started after installation. There were no difficulties with the installation itself. I saw it only afterwards when I was reading a text in pdf. Every pdf I opened closed within the 15 à 20 seconds. No matter when it was an old pdf from years ago or a recently.
In the meanwhile I heared from other peaple that version X had a lot of mistakes. I will wait a liitle bit longer before I try again.
