    No Scroll Bars

    MYAE2 Level 1

I have created a flash website and publish it to html for display in web browser. I edit the html in Dreamweaver CS5. The website is here: http://sunsetpicturesllc.com/. How do I get the pages to scroll when the browser is restore down ( minimised?)? Whenever the window resizes the pages are cut off and no scroll bar appears like in this site http://www.dreamworksanimation.com/.

If you look at the source for that Dreamworks site, you'll see that they are using swfobject.js and swffit.js to set up and control the look of the flash file and the page. You can get more information on swfobject.js here: http://code.google.com/p/swfobject/ and swffit.js here: http://swffit.millermedeiros.com/

Thanks Rob. I followed your suggestion and the page now has the scroll bar. However, I cannot get the page to center. Whenever I try to center it there is a large blank space to the left of the flash movie in Firefox, and the flash movie stays top left in Internet Explorer. I am using swffit v2.4 beta (2010/01/18). Any suggestions?

I don't use swffit.js. I just looked at the site that I listed above. There are seven arguments that you can set for the fit() function. Maybe if you set a maximum height and width, then you can use the horizontal and vertical centering. Down toward the bottom of the page there are some sample pages that show off the options, maybe one of those will help.
