Exporting for Color Correction - Help!

    SDCone Level 1

      Hi there,

I'm a director/editor in the fortunate position of having Technicolor color correct my 92-minute feature. However, I'm in Chicago and they are in Los Angeles, I'm Premiere Pro CS5 on a PC and it sounds like they may be Mac-based (not sure about that). The film was shot on a Canon DSLR.

This is what they had to say regarding export, and I'm just wondering what to do:

"...the best option for us would be to download the FREE AJA Codec and create an uncompressed 10bit file. This will yield the best picture quality. If that's not an option for him, we can do a test from an uncompressed AVI."

Any advice on my best bet? Is AJA Mac only? FYI, system is Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q9300 @ 2.50GHz, 2G, with ATI Radeon HD 4850, 512 MB Memory.

Thanks for any help you can provide. For the record, I'm the editor equivalent of the piano player who doesn't read music, so go easy on the terminology and name-dropping if possible. :-) I'm feeling my way through all this...

      Thanks,

      Stephen
