Adobe Reader 8, Windows 7 Home Premium SP1.
When I try to open PDF in IE 8 Adobe Reader informs me that "Cannot use Adobe Reader to view PDF in your web browser". I then click 'Cancel' and the PDF displays. If I click Ok the PDF doesn't open. In IE 8's 'Manage Add-ons' there is 1 Adobe add-on: Link Helper and it is Enabled. When I check for updates Adobe Reader says there are none.
Any way to get rid of this error?
I'll just get another PDF reader that works properly.

And to us fellow users it doesn't make any difference whether you continue using the free Reader or not. I'm sure that even Adobe doesn't care.
