I filmed a presenter at 1920x1080 hoping to have a lot of room to work with if i imported onto a 896x504 sequence. However, when I import it comes in at 100%. I need to scale the presenter but I'm afraid I will intoroduce pixals (by going above 100%).
Q. Can I scale larger in hopes that Premiere is smart enough to know that my footage is larger and get away with it?
The source footage will come into the Project at its source size. (It doesnt care or know what the sequence setting is)
It will play in the Source Monitor full frame fitted to the sequence setting. ie scaled .as per the sequence
In the timeline the clip will not display scaled in the Program Monitor. You should only see a centre extarction and you should be able to motion control the frame around.
Note: there is a setting that does scale the source to frame size. You would want this OFF (default)
You the man!
Thanks for the reply. Perfect.
