1. Re: How do get iPads in Device Central
Jens Nandi Mar 16, 2011 8:49 AM (in response to LeslieInV)Are you able to access the Online Device Library at all? Actually if your computer is able to access the ODL, the iPad profile should be accessible.

2. Re: How do get iPads in Device Central
LeslieInV Mar 16, 2011 3:02 PM (in response to Jens Nandi)I don't know how to tell if I can access the Online Device Library. When I click on the Browse in the upper right of the Device Central, I don't get any error messages, but then I don't see any iPhone or iPad devices either. All I see is a bunch of Flash Lite or Flash Player things. Do I have to do something besides click on Browse to connect (if I already have an active interness connection)?

3. Re: How do get iPads in Device Central
Jens Nandi Mar 17, 2011 12:37 AM (in response to LeslieInV)Clicking on "Browse" and entering a search should connect you to the ODL. Apparently your computer is not letting this connection happen. Could it be that you are in a network where certain applications are restricted from communicating with the internet?

4. Re: How do get iPads in Device Central
LeslieInV Mar 17, 2011 4:33 AM (in response to Jens Nandi)I'm on a home network using the default settings on an Apple Time Machine wireless router. Do you have any idea how I could determine what might be blocking the browsing of Adobe's Device Central?

5. Re: How do get iPads in Device Central
Jens Nandi Mar 17, 2011 5:24 AM (in response to LeslieInV)If you go to "Devices" and "Refresh Online Library" you will be able to figure out whether the ODL is able to access the internet. Being on a home netwok should not block the application from accessing the internet. If you have a portable computer you could try another network to make sure.

6. Re: How do get iPads in Device Central
LeslieInV Mar 17, 2011 5:53 AM (in response to Jens Nandi)I tried Devices > Refresh Online Library & it did a refresh, but nothing new appeared. I tried Devices > Disconnect from Online Library & then
Devices > Connect to Online Library & after it searched for new devices, still nothing new appeard, no iPhone, no iPad. I tried all the different filters too & stil no iphone or ipads.

7. Re: How do get iPads in Device Central
Jens Nandi Mar 17, 2011 6:15 AM (in response to LeslieInV)Looks like you are not being able to connect to the ODL. It is best if you try another network to find out if the same problem occurs before investigating further. Do you have the possibility to try out another internet connection?

8. Re: How do get iPads in Device Central
LeslieInV Mar 19, 2011 8:34 AM (in response to Jens Nandi)I'm at Starbucks now, so I'm using a new network, but I still don't see any ipads when I browse device central. Any other ideas?

9. Re: How do get iPads in Device Central
Jens Nandi Mar 21, 2011 1:19 AM (in response to LeslieInV)Hmmm.. what you can try is to delete the user folder, just in case something may have been corrupted there.
Go to AppData\Local\Adobe\Adobe Device Central CS5 and either rename or delete the "Adobe Device Central CS5" folder there, then start Device Central and see if you are able to access the online profiles

10. Re: How do get iPads in Device Central
LeslieInV Mar 21, 2011 4:45 AM (in response to Jens Nandi)I don't think I have a folder called AppData\Local\Adobe\Adobe Device Central CS5 on my Mac. I think that's the same thing as Library\Adobe\Adobe Device Central CS5 on a Mac, so I renamed that & restarted Device Central. A new folder was created to replace the one I renamed, but I stil lcan't see any ipads when I browse Device Central.

11. Re: How do get iPads in Device Central
Jens Nandi Mar 21, 2011 5:13 AM (in response to LeslieInV)Very puzzling indeed. What you did was right, that way we can rule out a corrupt user folder. Can you check "Device Central"->"Preferences"->"Netwok"->"Open Network Preferences" to see if the application is being able to connect to the internet? I cannot think of any other tricks yet, as I am able to connect via various machines and the iPad amongst other online profiles are accessible. I will let you know if I can think of anything else.
With which application or suite have you installed Device Central? Have you build 3.0.1.0 (3027) installed?

12. Re: How do get iPads in Device Central
LeslieInV Mar 21, 2011 6:58 AM (in response to Jens Nandi)I am using the same version, 3.0.1.0.3027 of Device Central. I just check for updates & Adobe says I have all the latest. I recived it in my Creative Suite CS5 Design Premium.
My open network preferences says that I am connected. (I couldn't replay here if I wasn't, right?) Under the Devices menu I tried Refresh & received no error. I also tried Deviced > Disconnect from online library & then Devices > Connect to online library. There were no error messages & no ipads.
I really appreciate you trying to help with this. Is there any other way I can get some help with this? Some direct connection with you guys maybe? It's not fair that I can't use what I've already paid for.
Thanks!

13. Re: How do get iPads in Device Central
Jens Nandi Mar 21, 2011 8:03 AM (in response to LeslieInV)You have the correct build, but Device Central is not going online despite your machine being connected
Lets try one more thing:
After having quit Device Central
- Delete the user folder again, as you had already done before
- Rename or delete "Adobe Device Central CS5 Prefs" from User->Library->Preferences folder
- Launch Device Central
I'll look into further solutions if this too fails
