Spell Checker Not Working…InDesign freezes…never happened to me before

I'm working on a publication similar to this one that I did last year only smaller:

      http://www.ogs.ou.edu/pubsscan…..s/GB36.pdf

I used the same template to create the new one but have run into a  problem that has never happened before. When I try to do a spell check, I  get a blank gray box, and have to shut down. I've checked the document  above, as well as another one using the same template, and other  documents that I've been working and the spell checker works fine.

The ONLY thing I did different  is AFTER I'd added  some figures I moved the folders. It didn't mess up my  links, but I  can't spell check now. I seriously doubt that would affect the spell  checker but I'm totaly baffled by this.

I'm going to attempt to move the pages into a new  template. Lucikily I've only done 26 pages, and have three more sections  to do, which if my first attempt doesn't work, I'll be creating a new  file for the rest of the sections.

Has this happened to anyone else, and if so, did you  figure out what the problem is? I'd be more than happy to send you the  InDesign CS4 file to see what happens on your end. You won't be able to  see the figures, but you could at least try to do a spell check to see  if the same thing happens.
