I have a user with CS3 who has all the correct access to a
folder, but she can't publish any of the files she edits. She gets
an error message when she tries to publish that says "access denied
the file may not exist or there could be a permission problem". I
have given her profile publishing access to the folder in which she
is working and the folder's properties show that there is "write"
permissions on the folder.
Am I missing a setting as an administrator? I've not run into
this problem so far with my other users.
I"m having a similar problem but I can log onto the server
and see that contribute is actually creating the temporary files.
So, permissions are definitely not a problem. The user was
publishing just fine for several months and then all of a sudden,
it no longer works.
There is one other thing I can think of--we had a similar
situation, and it turned out that the particular user who used to
be able to publish but then couldn't had recently had a setting
changed in Active Directory. We had to add that new setting to the
CPS. I didn't handle that part, so I don't know the specific
