Yes, you can use Buddy API, or FileXtra4.
First you need to present a "Save" dialog. You might use baGetFilename()
Once you get a valid filename (the user didn't cancel) you could use
baCopyFile() or fx_FileCopy().
Check the docs for whichever xtra you go with for details about
parameters to pass.
I would encourage you to have a try at writing the script for yourself
before providing a pre-built solution
Is the PDF file on a CD-ROM or on the Internet? If it's on the Internet, then you should use the asynchronous downloadNetThing() method. You could use getStreamStatus() or tellStreamStatus() to advise you when the download is complete.
