From what I can find on the 'net, there doesn't seem to be much difference between the GTX 460 and GTX 470 video cards. But there is a difference in price. What would I be missing if I bought the GTX 460 instead of the GTX 470?
Nothing really. Both perform excellently and for PR there is hardly any difference in performance. Your best bet is probably the 2 GB GTX 460.
Thank you for your response!
Follow up question - there are a number of companies making GTX 460 cards. As long as the card has 1 GB of memory and 336 processor cores, does it matter which brand I buy?
If you want the latest and need the lowest cost CUDA/MPE card take a look at these GTX 550 Ti $150 each. They just became available yesterday.
They only have the required 1 GB of video RAM but 192 cores which should work fine for low cost applications.
Only 116 Watts with this one could make upgrades more likely without also having to upgrade the power supply.
