    Problem uninstalling Adobe Reader X

Since installing Adobe Reader X, as a replacement for Adobe Reader 9, I am experiencing problems printing PDF documents.  I get a message that the document did not print, followed by a message that I did not select pages to print.  Also, when using print preview only a blank first page is shown for a multipage PDF document.  Using "file" > "print" or the print icon on the menu that appears at the bottom of the screen area results in the above messages.

When I try to remove the Adobe Reader X program using "Add/Remove Programs" in Control Panel, I get the following message

"This patch package could not be opened.  Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package."

Any info on how to uninstall Adobe Rewader X woul dbe appreciated.  I do not know what a "patch package" might be or what I should do.
