This is my first time trying to burn a movie on a new computer. It's an HP p6533w-b, and the burner is an HP DVD RAM GH 40L. I've burned discs with a DVD Cloner, so obviously the problem is getting PE to talk to the burner. But when I go to save to disk, I get the message shown below. Any ideas? Many thanks.
Your problem is often seen. Do you have packet writing software from Nero (InCD) or Roxio (drag to disk) installed, or have you recently installed new disk burning software of any kind? Packet Writing software frequently prevents PRE from seeing your burner(s) and you would be better uninstalling them. If you have added new burning software that may have messed with your registry.
Generally uninstalling packet writing software and reinstalling PRE cures the problem although it can recur. Personally, and the choice of many others as well, I always write to a folder and burn with software that allows you to set the burn speed (ImgBurn is very popular).
