See the Adobe Showcase. Please file bugs with simple test cases for the
problem you have run into.
I have been doing that. In the last two years, I filed 20 bugs. Do you know how many got fixed by now?
Four. In two years.
None of them in the 3.5/3.6 SDK branch.
Heck, there isn't even a single stable release for the 3.6 SDK available.
So what's the point? Please tell me.
The theory is that, if you are hitting problems others are hitting, that
they will vote for your bug which affects the priority of how likely it will
be addressed and when.
I wish we could fix every bug, but we can't and have to rely on community
input for priorities.
Thanks for participating.
Unfortunately, the reality is often quite different...(see this FlashBuilder bug for example, https://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FB-26396)
Anyway, I am just frustrated that after having discovered, researched, documented and submitted several bugs, the overall return for me is NIL. Nothing.
Not a single SDK update which I can use, no Flash Builder update, most of the bugs are simply closed as deferred. End of story.
I understand that its not your personal fault, of course, but my overall experience with Flex and FB is hence simply disappointing.
Well, I'm not sure I want to agree with "often", but probably once every
three months or so, a forum post will bring one of these issues to light. I
don't know why some of these issues get missed, but that's one of the
reasons for the forum and why I monitor it.
What is your jira user name? I couldn't find any bugs under your forum
For the record, I've filed bugs and most have been resolved. Recently however one was marked "fixed" in the latest SDK beta, which I proved this week it was still a problem, so not sure how Adobe proved it was fixed to begin with. Yes I understand it's a beta, but even the workaround has stopped working (that Adobe provided in the first place). Hope it gets fixed soon and a new workaround provided.
Nightly builds would be helpful - any word on when you will be doing this again?
@Tom, why are you still using Flex 3.x anyway? Never had a show-stopping bug/problem myself with Flex 4.x or even the beta to date.
My Flex user is "tom.burgundy", but judging from the email I received this morning you already figured out
Err.. JIRA user, I mean, not Flex
