I've searched extensively for the answer to this, but no joy.
I need, for some elements of my chart, to not show dataTips. This is easily enough achieved by using a dataTipRenderer extending DataTip and settings its visibility to false for those I don't want to show. However, the data tip target (the little circle that appears on the chart when you hover over the series) still appears.
I can disable this for the entire chart by using showDataTipTargets="false" in the chart, but I *do* want to show these targets in some cases.
Any ideas? It seems silly that these cannot be editable - what if someone wanted to change the shape or color of it?
You can try handling itemRollOver and itemRollOut for showing/hiding the custom datatips.
these events provides hitData.item which has all info stored in the chart's item.
No, this isn't the answer. As I mentioned, I have made a custom datatip using the dataTipRenderer. What I need to change is the data tip TARGET, which is the small circle that appears when you hover over a chart item.
