You will need to download and install 10.0 version first, using different installer - below is the English version.
Then check for Updates from the help menu and install the latest updates.
Thanks so much! That worked perfectly and required no additional steps...
I appreciate your information for error code 13050. I am still encountering the same problem. Even I did as you suggested but I still failed to install the 10.0.0 because of the new error message:
"Setup has detected that you already have a more functional product installed. Setup will now terminate!". Neither can I install nor can I unstall the Acrobat reader.
I would like first completely remove the acrobat reader from my computer and then install it again. Any information remained in the computer may stop me to install it properly.
Do you have any other ideas?
Thank you in advance.
You cannot install Reader 10.0.0 because Windows Installer engine finds newer version of Adobe Reader on your system.
If you cannot find it anywhere try the following-
Download and install latest Adobe Reader 10.1.0 ( AdbeRdr1010_en_US.msi) from ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/10.x/10.1.0/en_US/
Notice that you need .msi version.
Try to install - most likely you will get "Repair\Uninstall" installation dialog, choose Repair.
If this does not work, the easiest for you would be remove all instances of Adobe Reader using cleanup methods recommended on this forum.
Than try to install Adobe Reader you have downloaded in #1
I very appreciate your quick reply to my question. I have done as you described in #1. but I still got the same error message and failed to install AdbeRdr1010_en_US.msi. "Setup has detected that you already have a more functional product installed. Setup will now terminate!".
In the #2, you mentioned the cleanup method which has recommended on this forum. However, I could not find it. Would you tell me where I could find this cleanup method?
Thank you very much for your kindness.
Look for the posts from Claudio, for example here - http://forums.adobe.com/message/4172891#4172891
You might have installed and updated Adobe Reader (either 10.1.1 or even 10.1.2)
Before clenup, can you check if you have any Adobe Reader in "Add Or Remove Programms"?
If you do have it there, try to Reair first - there should be an option called Change or Repair (depending on your OS).
Thanks a lot again. I still could not clean up acrobat reader with Adobe Reader add or romove programs because I removed it with a software called "Perfect Uninstaller". The Adobe reader coud not appear again. Though every effort that I have done, it still leads the same error message. Later I will ask for the administrator account and check it again. I am really tired of it. Temporately I will install other free pdf reader instead of the Adobe Acrobat reader.
Thanks a lot for your patience.
